Primary Function

The History Department at The University of the South invites applications for a three-year visiting assistant position in the history of the Caribbean or Latin America. The appointment begins August 2018.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach the Latin American survey and courses in their areas of expertise. The teaching load for this position is six courses per year.

Job Specifications/Position Qualifications (minimum)


A Ph.D. in history or in a related field in hand by August 1, 2018 is required.


The successful candidate will show evidence of effective classroom teaching and a commitment to scholarly publication.
